ZIFA Division Two league winners play offs

IT'S D-day for top two teams in ZIFA Manicaland Division Two ,2A and 2B leagues this weekend as they square off in the promotiona­l play offs that will see one team being promoted to the more fashionabl­e Division One League next season.

League 2A teams Midway and Claremont finished in first and second positions with 95 and 89 points respective­ly while Ratings and Clearwater in 2B finished the season with 74 and 65 points.

Midway will host Clearwater at Midway in the first semi finals while Ratings will host Claremont at Sabi Valley School in the second semi finals. The overall winner will be promoted into the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League next season. Meanwhile, eight ZIFA Manicaland Division 2A League teams will this weekend clash in the maiden Discipline Cup this weekend. The top four teams in division 2A will be joined by the four most discipline­d teams in the quarter finals. Timothy Sicho Masachi's La Sakubva will play against Knowsticks at Show-ground while Hob House will play against Brooms at the same venue.

Skyline will play Real Mutare while DRC will take on Sisal. Both matches will be played at Franklin farm. The finals will be played on Sunday. The sponsor Victor Mazengero said the aim of the cup was to promote discipline among players. ZIFA Manicaland administra­tor Kundai Makwarise said the Discipline Cup is aimed at rewarding teams who have been discipline­d throughout the season.

“Our sponsor Victor Mazengero picked the four teams and as ZIFA we picked the other four to make them eight. We have limited resources that will only cater for eight teams,” he said.
