Golden Peacock hosts Valentine’s candle-lit dinner
MORE than 50 couples are tonight (Friday) expected to grace the Valentine's candle-lit dinner which will be held at the pool side at Golden Peacock Villa Hotel.
The Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14. February is widely known as the month of love. In most towns and cities, a lot of vendors and shops cash in on flowers and dolls among other charming goods.
One of the hotel's managers, Willard Madhombiro said the unique concept will be held under the theme: “Love by the poolside”.
“This is by far the best concept we have ever had. Couples might be familiar with the healing by the pool at Bethesda in the Bible, which symbolises the impact of water on health and wellness. Love is a wellness experience stimulated by water. Couples are invited to attend and rekindle the flame of love by the poolside. It is an ideal venue for lovers to celebrate love,” he said.
“Preparations are at an advanced stage and we are happy with the overwhelming response we have received so far. Love portion is our special dish of the night. Several deejays such as Mshez and Libz Kartel will entertain guests. Various sessions such as Question and Answer as well as discussions in marriages and couples will be held and prizes will be won,” he added. The dinner will see couples forking out $100, a fee which will include a three-course meal by the pool side. The event starts at 7pm. Last year's Valentine Day saw love ballads specialist, Trevor Dongo serenading lovers in an event which was co-organised by the hotel and leading radio station Diamond Fm.
