A convict, who was pardoned and RAPE released on a presidential amnesty, is at it again after being accused of deflowering his six-year-old daughter.

The rapist (name withheld) hails from Mapureti village under Chief Mutasa. He was previous sentenced to 16 years in prison for raping his other daughter before being pardoned.

The 64-year-old suspect appeared before Rusape Magistrate Mrs Lucy Mungwari facing rape charges as defined in Section 65(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.

Ms Event Dhliwayo prosecuted. Ms Dhliwayo told the court that on an unknown date this year, the complainant was left home by her mother when she went out to fetch firewood.

The accused allegedly called the complainant into his bedroom and raped her once.

“On another unknown date, the accused person called the child into the kitchen hut and raped her once. Again on another day, the child was called into a toilet and was sexually abused and the accused was caught in action by his wife, who could not make a police report since she was harassed in the previous case.”

“On June 11, 2019 the minor was at school learning about body parts when her teacher (name withheld) discovered that the she was reclusive. The alert teacher probed the minor until she told her that her father had raped her.

“On June 18, 2019 the informed one Swipe Chisorochengwe, a child care worker, who then informed the police through a tip off,” said Mr Dhliwayo.

The suspect is expected back in court on October 24, 2019 for judgment.
