Take extreme caution in schools
Now that this year’s school calendar is set to begin next week, school authorities, parents and their children must remember that Covid-19 is still around. They must all wear face masks, practice physical distancing and wash their hands regularly whenever they are in public places. We cannot afford having schools closed prematurely because of Covid-19. — Gandabva Peter

Build back better
The destruction that was made by Tropical Storm Ana in most parts of Nyanga district and some other districts should be a wakeup call to villagers who build their homesteads and structures using substandard bricks that are easily swept away. If possible building inspectors should inspect the building of schools in the rural areas, some students are going to start the new term conducing lessons in the open as their schools were destroyed. — Prisca Mutare

Zupco crews need to pull up their socks
We sincerely want to plead with the powers that be at ZUPCO. The time that their inspectors take to decide which bus takes which route at different termini is worrisome. They subject commuters to unnecessary torture by making them wait at the termini before this simple decision can be made. When ZUPCO started operating they had very professional and courteous drivers, conductors and inspectors but it seems things are changing. Most of the conductors and drivers are now turning out to be the touts we used to complain about, they seem to enjoy frustrating commuters for no reason. — Concerned citizen

The NSSA mobile clinic should also provide free medical care to the elderly people in rural Zimbabwe, especially those in difficult to reach areas. — S.K
While we understand that the current rains disrupt the ongoing road construction works, we plead with those who started the refurbishment of Magamba Road to do something about the current state of the road. It is now an eyesore and motorists are now having a nightmare driving along the bumpy surface. Please help us. — Farai Kadzu
