Exciting times at Golden Peacock Hotel

- Liberty Dube

ONE of Eastern Highlands’ leading accommodation facilities, Golden Peacock Villa Hotel has commenced a refurbishment exercise which will see several rooms and other infrastructure being upgraded to match world class standards, while a new and bigger conference room will be created.

While the posh hotel undergoes the revamping process, it remains open for business and it is currently running enticing packages for its stay-over and walk-in guests.

The hotel is currently running a World Cup Predict and Win competition where soccer enthusiasts who correctly predict the scoreline for World Cup matches and the ultimate winner gets the chance to win meal or accommodation vouchers, caps and t-shirts.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup which kickedoff on November 20 in Qatar has taken the country by storm, with scores of people visiting the hotel’s bar to watch their favourite teams playing in comfort.

In an interview this week, Golden Peacock general manager, Mr Adonis Mutigwe said the hotel is offering exciting packages for the festive season, starting with the on-going soccer extravaganza FIFA World Cup.

“We are geared for exciting times as we prepare for next year’s business by coming up with a new and bigger conference room, while some rooms and other infrastructure are undergoing renovations. We remain grateful for the support we have been receiving from the corporate sector and individuals. We have a lot in store for the festive season, beginning with the ongoing FIFA World Cup which kicked-off on Sunday.

“Unlike most accommodation facilities in the province, we have taken a step further by adding fun to the soccer fiesta through the Predict and Win competition where soccer fans are walking away with lots of prizes by merely predicting the correct scoreline for matches. The response from soccer enthusiasts who are visiting and watching the matches at the hotel has been overwhelming,” said Mr Mutigwe.

The hotel now has eight conference rooms with a capacity to carry over 2 500 guests, thereby making Golden Peacock the best option for large conferences in Manicaland Province.

The hotel’s strategy of adopting an all-inclusive approach to business through working closely with the business community saw them successfully hosting The Manica Post Ladies Summer School last week on Friday.

The Ladies Summer School, which was fully subscribed, saw scores of women from across Manicaland attending.
