Re-engagement drive bearing fruit The recent State visit by the Belarus president, Aleksandar Lukashenko to Zimbabwe, his first to a sub-Saharan country, is ample testimony that the Second Republic’s re-engagement drive is bearing fruit. The signing of eight agreements between the countries will definitely take the bi-lateral relations to new and higher levels. This bodes well for President Mnangagwa’s mantra that“Zimbabwe is open for business”. The country is on the right path to attaining an upper-middle income economy by 2030 as espoused by Vision 2030. – @PatrioticTechnocrat

Kwayedza Dzidzo was long overdue Zimpapers should be applauded for Kwayedza Dzidzo, it is a great initiative. For me, the Kwayedza newspaper was doing well publishing news in Shona and this idea of a publication that exclusively carries content for learners from ECD up to ‘A’ Level is noble as it will enrich learners’ language and significantly contribute to their grasping of the mother tongue concepts. — Sekuru Taruwona *** should curb exam

ZIMSEC paper leakages

While we applaud those who excel in their ZIMSEC examinations, the body must do more to curb and prevent the reported leakage of exam papers before they are written. Efficient and effective measures as well as checks and balances must be put in place to ensure that there is no recurrence of such incidents, lest our exams lose credibility if they continue being dogged by such controversies. — Gwinyai Shoko. A positive and welcome development. In fact, this had been long overdue as there were a lot of inconsistencies. In the end, it was tantamount to short-changing the customer. If this comes to fruition, then it will, indeed, be goodbye to billing estimates. We are calling on City of Mutare to expedite the process and bring relief to the long-suffering ratepayers. — Amon Manase responding to “Time up for billing estimates” ***

I am also adding my voice to the growing calls for an alternative route or bypass road for Christmas Pass. Something urgent also needs to be done to alleviate the congestion at Flyover, especially during the peak hour. The relevant authorities in the city have real work on their hands concerning those two burning issues. – Ruth Mutasa responding to “Calls for Christmas Pass by-pass road get louder”
