ENTERTAINMENT starved Rusape has staged a major coup by hosting a mega show comprising the country’ most sought after musicians, legendary sungura maestro, Alick Macheso and Afro-contemporary crooner, Jah Prayzah at Vengere Stadium tomorrow (Saturday).

The show dubbed: “Manicaland 2023 Shutdown Bash” has all the ingredients of a thriller, and is promising to be a memorable event.

The show is by public demand for both musicians to perform in Rusape as Macheso last played in the town seven years ago, while Jah Prayzah’s last appearance was five years ago.

A full house is expected at the venue as the two artistes drew different type of revellers, and it is not every weekend that they share the

We have to make sure it cooks evenly, so now we need to make a slit in between the leg and the main body of the chicken on both sides.

This area is generally the thickest part and takes longer to cook, so by doing this we will make sure the legs will cook at the same speed at the white meat.

If you are going to boil your vegetables, keep the used water to add to your gravy. It’s full of vitamins and will add flavour to your gravy!

◆ Line a roasting tin with foil (easier to wash

up after!).

◆ Peel and slice the onion into circles and place on the bottom of the tray. The chicken will sit on top of the onions.

Adding onions will flavour the juices in the tray which will be added to the gravy and also the steam from the onions cooking will keep the chicken moist as well as add flavour.

Make up a quick wet marinade. Add the garlic, lemon juice, tarragon, olive oil & salt and pepper into a mortar and pestle and beat until mashed together.

If you don’t have a mortar and pestle, mix stage, let alone in place like Rusape.

Due to lack of suitable joints to host crowd pulling artistes, Rusape music fans are forced to travel to either Mutare, Marondera or Harare to merry make.

The mega show comes a few months after Rusape successfully hosted the National Heroes Gala at the same venue.

Promoter, Wellington Chikoore aka Boss Chicco, promised a flawless show, saying all systems are in place for a memorable event that is set to attract revellers from across the country and beyond the borders.

Sungura artiste, Shuga Shuga and a host of DJs will warm up the stage for the two giants.

“We have organised this special Manicaland Shutdown event in Rusape following special requests by Alick Macheso and Jah Prayzah.

“They said they had starved their

Ruaspe-based fans for too long and they need to quench their thirst. Manicaland will have a perfect and well deserved early Christmas present.

“Revellers should never miss this show. They should not worry about the rains and power cuts as measures are in place,” Chikoore said.

Ochestra Mberikwazo band manager, Tich Makahamadze, said their Rusape show was long overdue as evidenced by the number of people from the town who followed the band either to Marondera or Mutare.

“We had starved Rusape for a long time. We would meet our Rusape-based fans who would have travelled long journeys to follow their band in neighouring towns and always invite us to perform there. We have answered their requests, and the band is raring to give them a special treatment,” said Makahamadze.
