Tito Chintuli’s redemption mission
FORMER Manica Diamonds gunslinger, Nyasha Tito Chintuli survived a forgettable 2023 Premiership season last year but the 29-year-old told Post Sport that his future is bright.
Chintuli, a Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) player, was on a season loan to Dynamos where he failed to live up to expectations as he suddenly lost his usual scoring touch and only managed a single goal from the 19 matches he featured on the Glamour Boys team sheet.
Of the 19, Chintuli was on the Starting 11 in 12 matches and the rest either warming the bench for the entire 90 minutes or coming in from the bench.
Indeed, life was not glamorous for Chintuli at the Glamour Boys!
Perhaps, the move to Dynamos was a mistake, given the rich vein of form the player had struck at Manica Diamonds where he made a name for himself the previous season.
In the 2022 season at Manica Diamonds and
Ngezi Platinum, Chintuli found the target nine times in a season that was also blighted by a sudden drop in form midway to the end.
However, the former La Sakubva player is not losing focus, and even in this darkest moment of his career, some suitors are still knocking on ZPCS’ door seeking to enlist the services of the Tenax FC player.
Post Sport can reveal that a Swaziland outfit, Izulwini FC, has expressed interest in signing Chintuli, while locally, a possible return to Dynamos is not really farfetched as well as links to CAPS United and Premiership new boys, Arenel FC. As the 2024 season beckons, Chintuli is keeping his eyes on the prize, and all he wants is a club where he can get more game time.
“The year 2023 was a bit rough for me. Injuries blighted my stay at Dynamos and got me off form. There were also a whole lot of sad developments along the way.
“I just want to see if I can find somewhere I can get more game time. I need more playing time and revive myself. When I signed for Dynamos, it suddenly appeared to be a big blow to my career and resulted in me losing value, but God willing, the plan is to rejuvenate Chintuli to his old self,” he said.
