Madzibaba accused of acquiring goblins

- Tendai Gukutikwa

CONTROVERSIAL Nyanga traditional healer, Sekuru Sithole has accused a local white garment prophet, Madzibaba Kenneth Masaiti of acquiring goblins from him to boost his spiritual powers.

Sithole who is well-known for parceling out goblins to clients from across the globe last week on Friday claimed that he gave Masaiti the goblins in a transaction that was supposed to benefit both of them, but the latter never paid him for his services.

As a result, Sithole is now demanding his goblins back, accompanied with five beasts as compensation. Sithole says is Masaiti fails to do so, his family risks being wiped out by the goblins’ wrath.

This was revealed at Chief Saunyama’s community court where Sithole said despite Masaiti gaining the spiritual powers and luring more clients, he failed to pay for his services.

“If he does not want to render what belongs to Caeser, I will not push him, but my goblins will unleash their venom on him. Deaths will be recorded at his shrine and within his family.

“If he thinks that I am lying, ask him if he did not record any deaths at his shrine before? That is unheard of as no one dies at a holy shrine. My goblins were at work to get their dues,” said the traditional healer.

True to the traditional healer’s word, Masaiti confirmed that some people died at his shrine while seeking spiritual services.

He, however, denied that Sithole was behind the deaths.

“This is absurd. My shrine is like any other shrine. Anyone can die because I am not God. I have never acquired any goblins from this man. In fact, I do not know Sithole. The only Sitholes I know are my in-laws in Chipinge, not this so-called healer.

“My powers are from God and not enhanced through this traditional healer’s goblins like he is saying. I suspect that someone went to acquire the goblins using my name and now the healer thinks it is me,” said Masaiti.

However, a register of Sithole’s clients that was produced showed that Masaiti was among them.

Masaiti’s children, Manyara and Francis, also appeared before the same court and demanded that their father either relinquish the goblins or pay the traditional healer’s dues. Francis claimed that people are dying in their family because of Sithole’s vengeance, yet their father continues to hide behind the finger.

“People have been dying like flies in our family and our father bars us from consulting healers, claiming that he is a religious person. We never suspected that our father was behind these deaths.

“What irks us the most is that our father is a powerful prophet with a large following across the country, but is failing to assist us, his own blood. When Sithole demanded that our father should pay his dues, we never had any second thoughts about the accusations,” charged Francis.

Masaiti’s daughter, Manyara, said her husband claims that he sees her father sleeping with her every night.

She said her marriage is now tittering on the brink of collapse because of that.

“I have asked my father to consult traditional healers, but he is not budging. With Sithole’s claims, I have confronted my father to try and knock some sense into his head, but he refuses to cooperate.

“We visited Sithole’s place with my brother, Francis, and true to Sithole’s word, we saw our father’s full name in his register. When we came back home and told him about our discovery, our father insisted that it was a mistake, yet our children and relatives continue dying,” said Manyara.

Her husband, Lovemore Madongonda chipped in: “My wife has suffered a lot. Her father sleeps with her spiritually because of his goblins. However, since I am also a spiritual man, I see him in the flesh sleeping with his daughter.

“I ended up sleeping in a different room with my wife because I cannot withstand this horror. I even told Masaiti that he was now free to do whatever he wants to do in bed with his daughter as she now sleeps alone,” said Madongonda. The matter was adjourned to March 1.
