School host five schools at an InvitaƟona­l Track AthleƟcs MeeƟng. The schools arrived from four provinces to compete for the InvitaƟona­l and Relay Trophies.

The boys and girls delivered a spirited performanc­e throughout the day with excellent sportsmans­hip displayed by the Coaches, Parents, and Staff from all the schools who parƟcipate­d.

When asked to comment, Mr. Chimwaza, a Hillcrest parent and School Developmen­t CommiƩee member said he was delighted to witness Hillcrest compeƟng compeƟƟvel­y, and with disƟncƟon, with other schools in the country. He added that he is looking forward to the next event which is the South Eastern Districts InvitaƟona­l Track and Field AthleƟcs meeƟng at Kyle Preparator­y School in Masvingo on Saturday 23rd March 2024.

In the relays, two records were broken by Hillcrest's U12 Girls 4 x 100m Relay team, and Wise Owl's U12 Boys 4 X 100m Relay Team. Two individual records were broken by Highveld's Boys in the 400m and 800m events.

3. Highveld Primary School, Rusape - 75 points

4. Maranatha Preparator­y School, Harare - 73 points

5. Naƫe Junior School, Harare - 59 points

6. Mutarazi Junior School, Nyanga - 40 points

7. Hillcrest Preparator­y School “B” - 33 points

The relay races were fiercely contested resulƟng in an extremely close finish for the trophy.

Hillcrest Preparator­y School, is a member of the AssociaƟon of Trust Schools of Zimbabwe with a fully registered and paid-up CAMBRIDGE center which includes all classes from ECD to Grade 7. It is nestled in the mountains of Penhalonga just two kilometers from the Harare to Mutare highway. It is only twelve kilometers from the Mutare City Centre. The landscape and natural beauty of the school are capƟvaƟng and provide a warm home to their boarders and day scholars alike.

Hillcrest Preparator­y School Students enjoy the huge benefit of a holisƟc educaƟon that offers a full academic curriculum, and a variety of sporƟng and cultural acƟviƟes to parƟcipate in. Academical­ly, they study three different syllabi.

In the 2023 examinaƟon­s, their Grade 7 class achieved a 100% pass rate for ZIMSEC, a 99.3% pass rate at Cambridge, and a 98% pass rate for the CHISZ Schools ExaminaƟon­s. A total of 199 disƟncƟons and 237 credits were recorded by 51 students.

At the recent NaƟonal InsƟtute of Allied Arts Vocal and Instrument­al FesƟval held in Harare, Honours was awarded to Hillcrest's Marimba Band. Their Vocal and Choir entries earned Upper First grades for their performanc­es.

Simba Mate is their moƩo which alludes to “An InexhausƟb­le Strength”.
