MUSICIANS under the Zimbabwe Female Gospel Artistes Association ( ZFGA) from several provinces around the country are respectively working on themed songs that will eventually be compiled into an album titled Rugare.

ZFGA president Mharidzo Hetisani told Stand

ard Style that the album would be launched live together with their association which had since been registered with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe if Covid-19 regulations are eased to allow artistes performances.

She said Harare Metropolitan province had already released a track named after the album featuring herself, Precious Kabanda, Edwick Duri, Idah Mangwiro, Roe Makawa, Martha Longwe and Tendayi Mateyu.

“We are working on an eight-track album with our members from di erent provinces that include Harare, Manicaland, Mashonaland West and Central and our members based in South Africa,” Hetisani said.

“Harare, Manicaland and South Africa have since released tracks Rugare, Beautiful Zimbabwe and Faith in Zimbabwe respectively.

“Other provinces will be done by the end of August. Each participating province has its own theme. Bulawayo Metropolitan province will release a Ndebele song about peace.

“Mashonaland Central province is singing about a mother and Mashonaland West province also has its own theme."

She said young female artistes under ZFGA would join hands with their male counterparts and sing against child abuse.

Hetisani said the track by Harare Metropolitan province titled Rugare was launched on Friday on the producer’s Facebook page VOT Studio.

“Rugare is themed around Isaiah 32.17. We are preaching peace to churches, families and the nation at large,” she said.

ZFGA was formed in 2018.
