Criticism drives Geraldine to do better

MULTI-TALENTED television personalit­ycum-commercial model, Geraldine Mandengend­a said accepting both negative and constructi­ve criticism has helped improve her craft in the competitiv­e media industry.

Geraldine who currently hosts a quiz show for junior schools on national television believes sky is the limit in endeavours to take her career to greater heights.

In an interview with Geraldine said art allows her to express herself at the same time showcasing her talent.

“I hope to leave a legacy that aims to show that although the girl child is sometimes looked down upon, they are able to achieve greatness and surpass the standards that some part of the society think they are not able to do,” she said.

Geraldine, who is also a brand influencer and voice over artist, said in everything she does, she seeks to build a strong brand that appeals not only locally, but also beyond the borders.

“I can best describe myself as a lady bursting with creativity, full of curiosity for the out of ordinary, someone who is passionate about my talents and blessed with the ability to embrace people’s difference­s,” she said.

The 28-year old Geraldine is a holder of a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies, and an Executive Certificat­e in Strategic Public Relations and Business Promotion.

(a news show), (a talent show) and (a talent show for Zimdanceha­ll).

She has also been the main host for the Zim HipHop Awards (2016), red carpet live opening and main anchor for the National Arts Merit Awards (2015) and red carpet Zimdanceha­ll Awards as the main anchor (2015).

Geraldine was also an annual mistress of ceremonies for Day of the African child and Internatio­nal Day of the Girl Child under UNICEF in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017, host for Child Rights Convention commemorat­ions @25(CRC) in 2015 and the Glam Awards Zimbabwe in 2020.

She was recently appointed Face of Kariba Trust brand ambassador in an effort to market the resort town of Kariba as a safe tourist and investment destinatio­n.
