Rescuer feted in Kariba
A Kariba man who rescued a fellow resident from the jaws of a crocodile attack has become a hero in the resort town.
Morris Fly (47) of Nyamhunga suburb was taking a walk near Lake Kariba last Thursday when he saw Tatenda Machache fighting for survival after a crocodile attack.
“He was in pain calling for help as he was being dragged into the water. I rushed to the nearby road, took stones and started stoning the crocodile assuming it would release him,” he said. “Later, I was joined by other passers-by who helped me and we managed to rescue him and called for an ambulance.”
The man is admitted at Mutendere Hospital in Zambia where he is recovering.
