Org anisers of the Ellard and Sharon Manyonganise Cherayi in concert lived DVD recording dubbed God the Lifter of Men (GTLOM) have promised a glitch free event, come February 26 at No 99 Park Lane in Harare.

The high-profile event promises fireworks given the level of support it is getting from various arts stakeholders, friends in music and corporate partners.

Speaking to Standard Style, Minister Ellard Cherayi said they have pulled all the stops towards a powerful praise and worship experience.

“God has been faithful to me and my wife and we can safely say 26 February is going to be a memorable experience as we usher our audience into the presence of the Lord through heartfelt praise and worship,” he said.

“We are grateful for the support we are getting from our family and friends, church members, music stakeholders and corporate partners. We just can't wait to perform and blow away our audience.”

The Cherayis need of no introduction in gospel music circles having horned their skills in church before they joined Zimpraise and later on became the face and lead singers in New Dawn Music Group.

With growth and clarity in their career path, the two who are full time pastors have since gone solo and are fast carving a niche of their own as a gospel music power couple.

One of the corporate partners to the GTLOM Live DVD recording, Kamili Investments MD Mandela Katsande said they were happy to play their part in supporting local arts.

“The Cherayis are the future of gospel music and we are happy to partner them in this historic event,” Katsande said.

“As an organisation that is firmly grounded in the Christian faith, we strongly believe praise and worship is the best way to bring our requests and supplications to God the creator hence our support.”

Kamili Investments is a fledgling group of companies with interests in logistics, food industry, sleep wear as well as kids toys to name a few.

The live DVD recording event will see Ellard and Sharon alternating on stage to perform quality and unheralded productions of their own before performing together on two or three songs.

Various partners have pledged support to the power couple of gospel music and these also include home and office decor giant KitchenLink as well as domestic and industrial cleaning chemicals and services provider Kusi Chemicals.

Advance tickets to the exclusive live DVD event are going for a modest US$15 and are available at Kamili Investments and Parul Tech in the CBD. Some can also be bought direct from the Cherayis.

Gospel music is fast-evolving with new names coming into the picture in recent years and claiming their stake in the industry.

Names that come to mind include Jonah Chivasa, Janet Manyowa, Takesure Zamah Ncube and Sabastian Magacha to name a few.
