Gara committed to helping less-privileged
FOUNDER and director of Tendai Association, Tendai Gara says she is committed to helping the less-privileged and vulnerable school-going children in Mashonaland Central province through her foundation.
Gara told Standard Style that she found joy in helping the less-privileged and will continue mobilising resources to assist them.
Born to a humble family where she was taught the tenets of humility, hard work and helping the needy, Gara said she continued to nurture the same beliefs, joining a growing rank of Zimbabweans willing to share and assist the less privileged children.
Last week Tendai Association paid school fees, bought uniforms and stationery for over 100 pupils at 10 schools in Bindura district.
"We will continue to give back to the society through the foundation," Gara said.
"It is important to educate these children and help them attain their goals.
"Recently, we paid fees, bought complete school uniforms and stationery for over 100 needy children in Bindura district,"
Tendai Association has reached out to vulnerable pupils at Dzimati, Bemberere, Thrums and Musana primary schools in Bindura.
“We intent to do the same for Jingo, Tamuka B, Chigiji, Dengu and Mabwemachena primary schools before the end of next week," Gara said.
"We also paid school fees for Chigwedere Primary Schools in Mashonaland Central."
Tendai Association plans to assist the vulnerable children until they reach ‘A’ level.
She applauded those that have been assisting her, including her husband Mangoro, for being supportive.
Gara said she was inspired her to venture into philanthropic works having realised she wanted to make a change in the lives of the young people.
She added that the children were at the centre of her heart and she would continue to invest in their lives in any way she could.
Mrs Gara further said that her organisation does not give because they are rich, but they give because it is a pleasing exercise to give. She concluded that her organisation has a vision of assisting thousands of vulnerable school going children across the country.
