Heart’s cry

I have borne the pain of accusations, Of the inability to speak to my defence I have grown to understand pain

As I am vulnerable to my impotence

While my job is to pump blood

Loads more jobs to my name have been attached See how they use my name to justify sin

And to err with their spirits relaxed

It is present in their tired adages

“I love you with all my heart”

While cleansing lust with my name

“I know it from my heart”

While sanitising lies to a partner

“My heart is my witness”

While justifying activities of sinful desires.
