Understanding the mystery of spiritual hunger
IN the kingdom you become hungry by eating, so the more you eat the hungrier you get. Hunger is not only a key for spiritual growth. The Bible speaks of how God gives cities to the hungry. But how is it that the hungry establish great cities? Hunger creates passion and commitment, when a young lion is focused on its prey, it cannot be disturbed by the shouts of the shepherds. Growth comes from how much you give in to spiritual hunger. Hunger has driven men to spend sleepless nights in search for a way to satisfy the different passions they have. The reason the Bible says God gives the cities to the hungry is because a man who is hungry puts more strength in whatever they are doing and like a lion they are focused on their goals.
What are you hungry for and what are you prepared to do to satisfy that hunger? Your progress or success is tied to your hunger, hearing stories of revivals sparked in me a desire to pray and the more I prayed the more I desired to pray. When speaking about hunger many don’t see that hunger for the things of God creates in you hunger for other things and when you are hungry for the things of God, he channels that hunger to become a passion for success or to see a change in your community. A man who lacks passion or drive is as good as the walking dead. It can start off as a hunger for anything but it always grows. Some men have not seen growth in their lives because they have never given in to hunger.
Most of the major developments in our time and past times were made by hungry men. A hungry man can’t sleep because hunger drives him so deep into the seeking mode that he finds rest and satisfaction in giving into his passions. It is hunger that caused man to make the aeroplane because they had a desire to see man fly and they gave into the passion until it consumed them. The reason many succeed is because they don’t have any passions. What are you hungry for?
I have realised it’s not enough to be hungry, the hunger has to be maintained. Many people, once they buy that single car or live in that nice apartment, lose that passion and drive for success and are no longer hungry. Have you noticed that your life stops improving the day you lose hunger? Hunger for the word of God births in you a drive for other things, a man who gives into his hunger for God’s word opens himself up to become hungry for other things in life. As you are reading this article a fresh drive for life has been deposited into you, don’t give into things that drain out your passion but from today, drive deeper into that place which the Bible says “And He has the hungry live there, so that they may establish an inhabited city”. Your nation is waiting for your hunger and passion. The reason your nation has not been growing is because you have not given into that hunger. What are you passionate about? Have noticed a man who is hungry sparks hunger in others. It’s time you establish your city, but the fastest way is to just be hungry. Become hungry and you will see God establish your family, city and nation. Your current level is not your final stop, there is more to you and your destiny.
