Don’t judge me by photos: Aspiring councillor

- BY STYLE REPORTER

Zanu PF aspiring candidate for council election in ward 20 Zengeza East, Chitungwiza, Leah Chidamba, whose pictures have gone viral on social media says people should not reduce politics in that manner and judge her by her pictures.

Chidamba is vying for the ward 20 council vacant in the March 26 by-election.

In the professional photos, Chidamba is seen clad in a body hugging black pants and high-heeled boots and shades. In modelling fashion, Chidamba reveals her outer ego hence people labelled her “slay queen” than a politician.

Speaking to Standard Style through her personal assistant, only identified as Fungai, Chidamba said she was not a model, but a resident from Chitungwiza who wanted to serve the community.

“My motivation is to serve a community that developed me into a woman that I am by means of providing basic amenities to the people of ward 20,” she said.

“I am not a model and some of the pictures that have gone viral have been photoshopped (doctored) and politics should not be reduced to that. People’s welfare is far more important than all this.”

Chidamba, who is a lab scientist by profession, has contested in the last election as an independent candidate.
