Man left for dead at funeral

A Madziva man is battling for his life at Bindura Hospital after he was attacked at a funeral gathering around midnight on Friday.

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the incident.

“I can confirm an attempted murder case in Madziva where Blessmore Muroyiwa (33) was attacked while relieving himself at a funeral,” Mundembe said.

“His assailants are not yet known and investigations are underway, but his condition is serious. He is still unconscious in the hospital.”

Muroyiwa left the gathering to relieve himself in the toilet where he met his attackers.

He cried for help and other mourners found him writhing in pain in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his head and swollen face.

His wife Linda Dopore (32) filed a police report before taking him to hospital.
