Body of drowned vet officer recovered

THE body of a Gonarezhou veterinary o cer who drowned while crossing Chilonga Bridge across Runde River in Chiredzi was found on Monday without its head.

The late vet o cer has been identi ed as Sebastine Shindi.

His uncle Absai Godini said the body was found about 400 metres from the bridge.

“We found his body but it was in pieces. We had to ght o crocodiles that were feeding on his body and his head was missing,” Godini said.

Shindi disappeared on Wednesday last week when he was travelling from his rural home in Shindi Village in Zaka when his motorbike was swept away at the bridge..

Shindi who was also a pastor at Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Nhema A1 region is survived by his wife and ve children.

More than 10 people have been swept away and killed as they tried to cross the ooded Runde River this year alone.
