Byo Uhuru fete slammed

FORMER Zapu Bulawayo South district secretary general Hudson Ncube said celebrating Independence Day in Bulawayo without issuing an apology to Gukurahundi victims is inhumane.

“My spirit is low; memories are still fresh in my mind about my relatives who were slaughtered in cold blood by the Zanu PF led government. I cannot celebrate over dead bodies.

"It’s inhumane, it’s inhuman. I am shocked to hear that the same perpetrators are coming here to celebrate Independence with us," the 82-year old Ncube said.

The Independence Day celebrations will be held in Bulawayo, the rst time the commemorations are being staged outside Harare.

Ibhetshu LikaZulu coordinator Mbuso Fuzwayo said independence without freedom was useless.

“People need freedom, promotion and respect of human rights, truth telling and justice to the past injustices that his (Mnangagwa’s) government committed,” Fuzwayo said.
