Farmers benefit from goat project
A TOTAL of 385 small and medium goat farmers from six districts have sold 1 150 slaughter goats under a European Union funded Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme (ZAGP).
The farmers are part of an EU funded Value Chain Alliance for Livestock Upgrading and Empowerment ( Value) project in partnership with the Goat Breeders Association of Zimbabwe (GBAZ)
A latest ZAGP report shows that districts that participated in the direct goat meat marketing are Buhera, Mbire, Nkayi, Mudzi, Binga and Rushinga.
"Following a successful pilot of the direct goat meat marketing arrangement in Buhera district, the project undertook a monitoring visit to ascertain the success of the initiative for the participating farmers,” reads the report.
