Wife stabs love rival

A 45-year-old Shamva woman stabbed her best friend whom she caught in bed with her husband.

Fananidzai Nyoni pleaded not guilty to the charges when she appeared at the Bindura Magistrates Court before provincial magistrate Shingirai Mutiro on Thursday.

She was remanded to May 19 for trial.

The state led by Carson Kundiona alleges that on April 27, Nyoni went to Belinda Dzomwa’s (26) residence around 4am to inquire about the whereabouts of her husband. Nyoni had long suspected the two were having an affair. She found her husband in bed with Dzomwa, and a fight ensued resulting in the stabbing.

In her defence, Nyoni denied stabbing her friend, saying they fought after she saw the two being intimate.

“Your worship I did not stab the complainant as alleged but instead we fought after I caught her pants down with my husband who fled the scene when I arrived,” Nyoni submitted. — SIMBARASHE SITHOLE
