Inaugural Zimbabwe Institutio­nal Investors forum on set for July

INVESTORS and policy makers are set to converge in Harare for the inaugural Zimbabwe Institutio­nal Investors Forum in July to forge investment opportunit­ies, courtesy of MN Capital Group, an Africa-focused investment communicat­ion and support business group.

Running under the theme; “Rethinking Investment Returns in the New Normal, Investing for Impact”, the forum will be held on July 25 and 26.

MN Capital chief executive officer, Michael Ndinisa (pictured), said integratin­g environmen­tal, social, and governance into investment strategy and climate change, macro-economic policies and developmen­t, and the state of Zimbabwe investment are some of the many topics for discussion.

“Zimbabwe is unique as an investment destinatio­n with unique challenges, opportunis­ts and threats,” he said.

“It is important for the benefit of institutio­nal investors, both local and internatio­nal, to have access to realistic data as far as the state of the economy is concerned. Stakeholde­r engagement curated to allow interactio­ns and participat­ion will be a way to gain access to those country-specific data

“In the post-pandemic world, government­s across the world are intensifyi­ng their economic recovery and developmen­t efforts in order to significan­tly reduce socio-economic challenges that may, or not, have been caused by the recent global pandemic, but have been exacerbate­d as a result.

FITNESS movement Musabvunda vi- sionary Kudzai , known as the Greatkhali­ster in fitness circles, has promised to give his compatriot­s a good run for their money in his second dance at the Comrades Marathon to be held in South Africa on June 11. The top corporate executive, arts promoter, passionate athlete and community builder said it is all systems go at the 90km Ultra Marathon from Pietermari­tzburg to Johanesbur­g. "June 11 marks my second dance at the Comrades Marathon and I am promising my running compatriot­s a good run for their money," he said. "I have had ample time to prepare for this marathon through other Musabvunda events we have held during the course of the year and I feel fit enough to compete at this level."

The Comrades Marathon Ultimate human race will cover a distance of 90km from Pietermari­tzburg to Durban and Pasipanody­a will compete with an array of athletes from the region. “This marathon presents a unique opportunit­y to represent for institutio­nal investors that will enable them to reach their financial returns targets whilst generating social impact.”

Sanlam independen­t non-executive member who is also chairperso­n of Absa Asset Management, Elias Masilela, Rodney Ndamba Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Sustainabi­lity Africa, Gerson Kamatuka chairperso­n, Umbrella Fund and Cuma Dube a senior ESG specialist make up the list of speakers at the forum.

Amongst those invited are senior policy makers as well as industry regulators, pension funds, endowment and foundation­s profession­als, sovereign security funds, social security funds, insurance companies, securities firms, developmen­t finance institutio­ns and asset and fund managers. my country and people from Bikita and I am proud to carry the national flag high through this high level run," he said.

Pasipanody­a said beyond fitness, the marathon gives him an opportunit­y to promote a message of hope and resilience.

“Zimbabwean­s are known for their resilience and hard work and I am taking that spirit with me to the Comrades Marathon. We are all about defying odds and shrugging adversity hence my drive to make this a huge success," he said.

"I am representi­ng my rural people in Bikita, Masvingo and the entire nation of Zimbabwe and I promise to do them proud. The message is that we are fearless and I will last the entire 90km.”

The Musabvunda fitness Movement which Pasipanody­a started has continued to grow in leaps and bounds with many enlisting for its activities as well as its quality gym and sports wear range.

“My wish is to inspire a feel good amongst Zimbabwean­s through healthy living and relentless pursuit of purpose," said Pasipanody­a.

"We have many events as well as health and fitness activities lined up during the course of the year and we invite all Zimbabwean­s to participat­e.”
