Cimas brings joy to less privileged pupils

- BY EVANS MATHANDA

Private healthcare provider Cimas partnered the Primary and Secondary education ministry to take 80 less privileged children from rural primary schools to the just-ended Zimbabwe international trade Fair (ZitF).

the pupils were selected from Sababa Primary School and Fulunye Primary School in Matabeleland South province, Greenfiled Primary School and Kosana Primary School in Mashonaland West province.

the initiative was part of under Cimas’s corporate social responsibility programme, which is in line with the organisation’s drive of inspiring healthier communities by providing global standard health and wellness solutions.

Cimas said this was their second time sponsoring pupils to attend ZitF.

Cimas Health Group chief executive officer vulindlela Ndlovu said the move was meant to promote education and empower disadvantaged children with the hope to inspire them to dream big, aim high, and realise their full potential.

“this is the second year that Cimas has brought the less privileged pupils to the ZitF,” Ndlovu said.

“Cimas paid for the pupils’ transport, accommodation, meals, and the trade fair entry tickets.

“the pupils arrived in Bulawayo on thursday afternoon and had their guided tour of several exhibition stands that included the Ministry of Primary and

Secondary education stand and the Cimas stand on Friday.”

Primary and Secondary education ministry spokesperson taungana Ndoro said the ministry was elated by the Cimas Health Group partnership.

“Cimas Health Group has shown through its corporate social responsibility that it is supporting our heritagebased curriculum which shows innovation by bringing on board to the ZitF 2024 at least 80 learners,” Ndoro said.

“these 80 learners from Mashonaland West and Matabeleland South provinces got to watch enterprises, innovation and watch how we can build this country brick by brick as we envisage becoming a prosperous and empowered middle income economy by the year 2030.”
