Musona reacts with a goal but . . .
equally as controversial.
This instalment could have been about the Harare- based football administrator who is busy working around the clock to ensure that his compromising pictures – taken at a “small house” – do not leak. The guy is in trouble. There was also the option of ripping into three Dynamos players who are increasingly frequenting that infamous drug mole in Mbare for supplies of everything – cough mixtures, weed and those blue pills.
This trio is always in “stick mode”. No wonder why DeMbare are in a mess.
Zifa looked easy prey too after their dump squib move of “suspending” Cecilia Gambe, for invading the pitch at Sakubva on May 8.
It’s a move that is clearly meant to get some heat of the soccer governing body’s backs and that is the reason why Gambe is wearing that weird smile, showing people her WhatsApp chats with PC.
But all this has to take a back seat as I cut close to home, hit out at a boy I saw growing into a man, chew into a lad I consider family.
We are close with “Knodgey”, that is the Smilling Assasin to most of you, and don’t need to be reminded that it’s not easy to get through his head unless you are his beloved mother or Marc Duvillard or both if possible.
If Knowledge was easily swayed he would not have married the wife he wakes up next to every morning, we had concerns over her “M1” status but the boy told us to go stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.
But Knowledge needs to be told the truth at this hour and the message is – boy stop being greedy.
Musona has to immediately drop the betting habit before it ruins his career, ruins his life.
The Warriors star will most likely be fined for his foolishness but one wonders whether the punishment will be strong enough to extinguish the gambling fire that is burning inside him.
Betting is like cocaine, it’s addictive as it is destructive.
You feel like you are close to winning, continue to place bets and before you know it you are as broke as Gilbert Mushangazhike is reported to be.
As Musona’s betting saga unfolds a vindictive Jonathan Mashingaidze can claim to have been on to something when he accused the striker and Ovidy Karuru of match fixing after seeing them in the company of Henrietta Rushwaya ahead of a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Guinea.
“Ye, ye, yes Papa. I saaaaid it and they saaaaaid Mashhhh anopenga. But loooo-ok now,” Mashingaidze , if he were vindictive, would stammer along as he recalls the June 2012 events.
Interestingly just like he did on Friday night Musona reacted to that “match fixing” drama with the goal that sank Guinea at the National Sports Stadium before immediately announcing his retirement from international football.
With egg on their face Zifa apologised and Musona bounced back.
Now he is one of Pasuwa’s key men ahead of the Gabon 2017 and we need all of him, minus the betting habit obviously. Sir exits the scene! ◆ Sir is social media commentator and writes this satirical column in his personal capacity. Feedback sir18area@yahoo.com
