GAMBIA’S former president, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Abdul-Aziz Awal Jemus Junkung Jammeh Naasiru Deen Babili Mansa, the ex-Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Chief Custodian of the Sacred Constitution of The Gambia, wronged the West when he stood up against homosexuals.
Whichever way you want to look at it that is the real reason why he lost an election fraught with irregularities.
What is happening in The Gambia is not a case of democracy but a case of gay gangsters ganging up against a formidable enemy.
For 22 years the West put up with Jammeh and his so-called dictatorship but the minute he, like President Mugabe, strongly stood up against gays and homosexuals is the very moment they decided to effect regime change in The Gambia.
Jammeh, who has a history of out- spoken comments against gay people, and has made threats during public speeches, is an enemy of the West because of that.
The 52-year-old, who ruled the country since a bloodless coup in 1994, is on record saying: “If you do it (homosexuality) I will slit your throat — if you are a man and want to marry another man in this country and we catch you, no one will ever set eyes on you again, and no white person can do anything about it.”
The reference to “white people” was aimed at the European Union and America, who cut over US$10 million of aid to the tiny country in December 2014 due to what they termed a poor human rights record.
In Africa if you do not support gays and lesbians, the West will say you have a poor human rights record. This is why The Gambia is in a political crisis and this is why Zimbabwe has been perpetually under sanctions.
According to the West it is because of a poor human rights records, but because we know better: it is because of President Mugabe’s aggressive antigay stance.
After cutting aid to The Gambia, the West orchestrated a ploy to ensure that Jammeh lost the next election, which was held on December 1, 2016.
Following the advice of his Western backers, Adama Barrow refused to hold a run-off election after Jammeh realised there were shocking irregularities and electoral flaws.
Barrow won 263 515 votes (45,5 percent), while Jammeh polled 212 099 (36,7 percent), and a third candidate, Mama Kandeh, got 102 969 (17,8 percent).
This mean a staggering 53,7 percent of Gambian voters did not want Barrow to be their president.
The honourable thing was to hold a run-off election.
In Zimbabwe in 2008, Morgan Tsvangirai polled 47,9 percent while President Mugabe had 43,2 percent and Simba Makoni 8,3 percent in the first round of voting.
Effectively, no one had a majority a run-off was necessary. The results of that run-off were conclusive.
The puppet Tsvangirai had 233 000 of the votes, which amounted to only 9,3 percent while President Mugabe had 2 150 269 votes. That means 85,5 percent of Zimbabwean voters wanted him to be President.
In The Gambia, gay gangsters made sure no run-off would happen.
Jammeh’s cardinal sin was standing against homosexuality. Homosexuality at first attracted a 14-year prison sentence, but in November 2014 Jammeh signed a new bill into law increasing this to life imprisonment.

In 2013 Jammeh asked parliament why he had never seen “a gay chicken or a gay turkey”, and in 2014 he compared homosexuals to “vermin”. For the West, Jammeh would simply not do!
In January 2015, Jammeh accused the US of spearheading an evil homosexual empire. Come elections in December 2016, the West made sure Jammeh would not be re-elected.
Jammeh was not a bad president per se. Gambians called him “Papa Don’t Take No Mess” and “Defender of the Faith”.
His Jammeh Foundation for Peace was created to help eradicate poverty among Gambians, improve agricultural production, and sponsor educational opportunities for needy students. The foundation has a public hospital.
Jammeh also bankrolled university education for less-privileged Gambians and non-Gambians alike, both at home and abroad.
He banned female genital mutilation in The Gambia, labelling the practice as having “no place in Islam or in modern society”. After the end of Ramadan and Eid ul-Fitr in July 2016, Jammeh further announced a ban on child marriages. So why has Jammeh been ousted? It is because he introduced legislation that would set laws against homosexuals that are “stricter than those in Iran”, and that he threatened to “cut off the head” of any gay or lesbian person in the country.
Jammeh, in a speech at the United Nations on September 27, 2013, said “homosexuality in all its forms and manifestations which, though very evil, anti-human as well as anti-Allah, is being promoted as a human right by some powers,” who “want to put an end to human existence”.
He is also on record for saying LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders) actually stands for “Leprosy, Gonorrhoea, Bacteria and Tuberculosis, all of which are detrimental to human existence”.
Jammeh was not the enemy — gay gangsters of West are the enemy!
