GTel Vivo Pro: Impressive Design

-

GTEL has been trying its best to provide high end specs in very reasonably priced smart- phones for a long time. The company has got a great reputation of releasing a series of eye- catching smart- phones on the market.

The latest release, the GTel Vivo pro, has an impressive design and interesting features.

In usual GTel style, it came with a number of extras: a plastic back cover, a transparent case and screen protector. Obviously it also packs the regulars, a USB charger cable, 3- pin charger head, really impressive earpieces (when I tried them out) and off course a phone manual.

The phone feels quite light until you add in the bat tery (obviously) and pick between the different back covers to complete its look ( I chose the blue one).

Power and volume buttons seat on the right side leaving the left completely bare.

At 8,9mm the phone seats in your palm quite nicely, and feels quite solid for its 153g weight.

The lock screen wallpaper swipes to reveal 4 images which change to new ones every day; that is if you are connected to the internet.

The add- on of an extra battery cover is where GTel throws in a cool Easter egg.

I got the gold and black covers, but there is also a blue variant. Be sure to look at the box before you buy to get your preferred shades. Who knows, they might even come in handy, if you are the type to colour match your accessories to your outfit.

The GTel Vivo pro is powered by a 1,3GHz Quad- core processor and includes 1GB of RAM to support multitasking. Using the 16GB of internal storage you can store everything that is necessary and if that doesn’t sound much there is an expansion slot that can extend the storage via a microSD card up to 32GB.

On its face, the GTel Vivo pro boasts a 4,5- inch IPS LCD capacitive touch- screen with decent viewing angles. The device produces lively and crispy colours and the screen is clear in both indoor and outdoor conditions.

In terms of camera, the Vivo pro comes with a 5- megapixel rear camera paired with an LED flash that you can use to capture images and record videos. For selfies and video calling, there is a basic 2- megapixel front- facing shooter. You can also enjoy the latest Android experience as the smart- phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop based Amigo 3.1 out of the box.

The device ships with an array of connectivity options that help you stay connected with your near and loved ones.

Connectivity options include 3G, Wi- Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port that help you transfer files to and fro from your computer. This dual SIM smartphone carries a Li- Ion 2,000 mAh cell, giving an expected talk time of up to eight hours.

Finally, the VIVO PRO might not be the device for the business class but it sure is the smartphone for the fun loving youth. It ’s affordable, durable and a per fect match for expressing your uniqueness.
