AN INTERNATIONAL organisation — Equip Zimbabwe — which trains pastors and church leaders, held its inaugural conference when it launched a Salt and Light strategy which seeks to empower church leaders in nation building skills.

Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe (EFZ) secretary general Pastor Blessing Makwara said the conference would empower church leaders with the word of God.

“Equip is committed to making a difference by doing everything it can to fulfill the great commission through a global movement of transformation.

‘‘We believe the Bible is God’s living and active word to us through which the creator of the universe speaks into our lives, transforming us by the power of His Spirit and calling us to trust the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

“ln small groups, we learn how to prepare and write Bible studies, and receive encouragement and feedback from experienced leaders,” he said.

Equip International founder Pastor Tom Mullins said after last week’s conference, individuals should see personal transformation which would ultimately lead to national transformation.

Equip Zimbabwe trustee Pastor Tom Deuschle said some training material written by John Maxwell would be a good introduction to the concept of round tables.

‘‘The concept encourages the church to connect with the people.

Pastor Deuschle also told the conference that he had already began the process of round tables with his family as a way of enhancing transformation.

Other Equip Zimbabwe trustees who attended the conference include Dr Shingi Munyeza and Dr Goodwill Shana.
