Allan Wilson’s dance with glory

- Leroy Mutyambizi

RENOWNED Christian author Ellen G White in one of her books titled education writes: “True education means more than the pursuance of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.”

Borrowing from this wise counsel and buoyed by the desire to be well rounded youths who are spiritually, mentally and socially balanced, bearing the hallmarks of true God fearing Christians, the Allan Wilson boys high school’s scripture union club played host to a spiritually pregnant rally last weekend that sought to equip youths for the kingdom to come.

Held under the theme “you have dominion over every living thing,” the rally was attended by scores of students from various schools who thronged the school hall for a serious dosage of spiritual nourishment.

Schools in attendance included, Harare girls High school, Marlborough school, Mabelreign Girls High school.

Gracing the highly charged spiritual day was Pastor Maguti from Living Word Ministries who was assisted by Pastor Felix Mashinda from Trinity house of Prayer ministries.

The two men of God gave powerful and insightful presentations that left hundreds clamoring for more.

Pastor Maguti said “Your body is the temple of the holy ghost so it must be respected”.

The powerful spoken word presentations were accompanied by melodious musical presentations by students who attended the annual gala.

Passing through the place, one could not help but marvel at the singing which was jam-packed with spiritual upliftment.

A visibly elated, Dr Blessing Njitimana, headmaster of Allan Wilson school was full of praise as he showered his boys with praise for organizing such a remarkable event on the school calendar while thanking the Almighty for allowing everything to happen according to plan. Sunday Mail
