Christ Embassy seizes carnival experience

- Gwen Chimuti

WHILE many Christian denominations shunned the Harare International Carnival, Christ Embassy Zimbabwe took the opportunity to share the gospel with other people on a relaxed platform.

The church mobilised 1 686 members who were dressed in multi-coloured costumes to distribute daily devotional booklet, “Rhapsody of Realities”, to masses who were part of the fun.

Four branded drag racing cars, a stateof-the-art float and a roadshow truck completed the carnival procession.

Spicing up the procession was Christ Embassy artistes Flem B, Willis Wataffi, Best Masinire, DJ Sabs and many more.

Annually, Christ Embassy Zimbabwe hold their prime event, “Reach Out Zimbabwe”, where they take time to go to various communities and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

During this season, Christ Embassy also hosted a number of charity events and made donations to different communities.

According to Christ Embassy Zimbabwe leader, Pastor Ruth Musarurwa, “Reach Out Zimbabwe (ROZIM) is our season to intensify our soul winning efforts in a bid to invest the word of God in our nation.”

“We have the mandate of taking the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ contained in Rhapsody of Realities to every man and this year, we have distributed one million free copies of the Rhapsody of Realities daily devotional authored by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, who is the founder and president of the Believers LoveWorld nation,” she said.

According to the church’s official website, Christ Embassy will be distributing 250 million free copies of the devotional across all the nations and territories of the world.

One of the Christ Embassy officials highlighted that the vision of their ministry as taught by Pastor Chris charges them to take the gospel to all the people of the earth and that the responsibility of preaching the gospel is not only for pastors, bishops and preachers.

“Taking the gospel to the Carnival Street Party was more than a delight for the members of Christ Embassy. The preaching of the gospel is not only confined to the walls of the church building, we are obliged to take it everywhere.”

The Reach Out Campaigns are held in many nations across the world.
