Only ‘stupids’ celebrate sanctions

EDITOR — The past week has seen the opposition media going into overdrive as they celebrate that some people in the American political establishment want sanctions on Zimbabwe to remain in force.

One has to wonder which country they are living in.

How do they benefit from the country not accessing money and support from international lenders like the IMF and the World?

Instead of highlighting what businesspersons like Joe Mutizwa and Strive Masiyiwa are saying about how sanctions are killing the economy, they would rather lean on political statements as if they eat politics.

I think I will have to agree with Nelson Chamisa here: those people who support his silly anti-development ideas, such as engaging in violence and “kuzvidira jecha” are “stupid”.

There is no other way to describe such people.

I shudder to think what kind of children they are raising if they are such stupid custodians of their own nation in their various spheres.
