Welcome to the year 2020. Personally, I think if we pull collectively in one direction, we will achieve better results. There are no elections this year, in 2021 and 2022 so we should set politics aside and concentrate on economic revival. There is no need for rallies or demonstrations, but we need people to come up with implementable solutions for a better Zimbabwe. — Thomson.

If the reports that we are getting on plans by higher and tertiary institutions to increase fees are true, then Government intervention becomes necessary. Surely, how can a State university propose $12 500 per semester? To make matters worse, their graduates are half baked. — Academic, Harare. Let us continue praying that the heavens will open up and give us a downpour. We need rains desperately and it is a matter of food security or hunger. — Farmer, Mvurwi.

I fail to understand if the law enforcement agents are incapable of dealing with machete gangs or there is something happening behind the scenes that is holding them back from real action.

The way I have seen our police deal with rogue elements bent on destroying property in the name of politics, leaves me confident that these machete gangs are small fish to fry. It is time the law enforcement agents put a stop to this because right now machetes are flying around in the capital city. — Worried. Thank you very much The Sunday Mail team for giving us good Sunday reads in 2019. We hope that you continue providing more relaxed, but indepth reads.
