Our Govt is more than capable

IN response to the imminent reopening of schools, the best news from this article is probably about the 6 000 new teachers who will be employed soon.

Recently, unemployed nurses were recruited. In other sectors, like road construction, the Government has upped the game.

What all this points to is that our Government is capable of solving the ills bedevilling our nation.

Actually, it is more than capable. Unfortunately, there is one critical area where the Government is not applying full attention — stabilisation of the foreign currency exchange rate. Besides sanctions, lack of external support and other negative factors, the country has enough positive factors to stabilise the exchange rate. This is not even debatable.

The fact that it has been almost two years since the last election without an aorta of evidence of stabilisation of the exchange rate should be motivation enough for our Government to take drastic measures towards this.
