MR DOUGLAS MUNATSI
The Chairman, Dr Vincent Hungwe, on behalf of Commissioners and the Secretariat of the Public Service Commission, the Defence Forces Service Commission, Prisons and Correctional Service Commission, the Police Service Commission, and of the entire Civil Service, extends deeply-felt condolences to His Excellency President E.D. Mnangagwa, to the Government of Zimbabwe and the Munatsi family, following the tragic demise of the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) CEO, Mr Douglas Munatsi.
A seasoned banker, visionary business leader, Mr Munatsi was the country’s focal man in operationalising the nation’s One-Stop Investment project for improving the investment climate and ease of doing business for Zimbabwe. It was only a few months ago, in July this year, that Mr Munatsi took the entire Public Service Commission leadership on a tour of the One-Stop ZIDA offices and explained extensively and passionately the vision he had for Zimbabwe’s Investment trajectory. We remember this with immense grief in our hearts and feel much pain over the now lost opportunity of travelling together in the climb towards Vision 2030. As we continue on that journey, we feel the loss of this visionary leader, a catalyst and strategist, who had the capacity to lead and propel our country’s investment drive.
As the Public Service, and the nation at large, we have indeed lost a reformist, who had significantly made strides towards private sector-led economic growth and transformation with the view of achieving Vision 2030. Our prayers are with the bereaved family left behind. May they find strength in knowing that as a nation we are with them during this difficult time.
May his dear soul rest in eternal peace!
