Council must repair sewer infrastructure
AS we begin the new year, as Harare residents we hope to see an end to the sewer reticulation and drainage problems in our city.
Currently, our drainage system does not work at all.
This problem always manifests when it rains and we witness flash flooding all over.
Because our roads are riddled with potholes, drivers struggle to safely navigate the roads.
As a result, many vehicles are damaged. Council should take this issue seriously. In addition, the sewer reticulation system is a mess, especially in high-density suburbs like Glen View.
Raw sewage is always flowing into houses and this can lead to disease outbreaks.
Council must not continue fixating on hiking rates.
Any rate increase should come with noticeable service delivery that includes fixing the drainage and sewer systems.
