Don’t abandon stray animals

I would like to bring to your attention the suffering, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, of many animals, particularly dogs and cats, that live in the thoroughfares around us.

We are in the middle of a terrible pandemic and many of us are unemployed or working from home, and going out is now a frightening undertaking.

As a result, many of us, who would normally feed these stray or neglected animals in our neighbourhoods, have stopped doing so. This is particularly so in light of fake news that is circulating claiming that Covid-19 can spread through animals. Because of that, many stray animals are dying from starvation.

I would, therefore, like to appeal to the people of our country and the world to help these animals survive this adversity by stepping up and ensuring that the animals are fed.
