Let’s renovate sports facilities

I WOULD like to applaud the Presidential envoy and Ambassador-at-Large Uebert Angel for partnering Harare City Council to jointly renovate Gwanzura Stadium.

Indeed, over the years, Gwanzura Stadium has played a major role in the development of our football.

The stadium has hosted countless local and international football matches.

It has become one of Zimbabwe’s major hubs for football development and a legacy institution not only for Highfield suburb, but the whole country.

It has also hosted many other different events, including musical shows.

Therefore, the renovation of Gwanzura Stadium is very commendable.

I also hope other business people and philanthropists will join hands with authorities to renovate other run-down stadiums and sports facilities.

This will not only raise the standard of our athletes, but it will also put us in good stead when considering hosting major sports tournaments such as the Africa Cup of Nations and other events.
