Monday
The Meteorological Services Department has commenced cloud-seeding in order to stimulate rainfall and possibly salvage the summer crop which has begun showing signs of moisture stress.
In some areas, farmers are already counting their losses with late-planted maize, sugarbeans and soyabeans having succumbed to the high temperatures and dry conditions.
Tuesday
President Mnangagwa has rescued hundreds of former mineworkers who were facing eviction from their homes after new owners of the mine ordered them to vacate their homes.
The majority of the ex- mine workers used to work for the now-defunct Broken Hill Proprietary (BHP) Minerals Zimbabwe (Pvt) (Ltd) and are residents in the towns of Chegutu and Norton.
After the collapse of BHP, another mining company stepped in and threatened to evict the former workers from their homes.
Wednesday
President Mnangagwa arrived in Nairobi, Kenya yesterday for a crucial two-day State visit where he will hold meetings with his counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta.
The President was welcomed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Kenyan Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Raychelle Omamo, and Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ambassador Frederick Shava, who led an advance party that comprised technical staff and senior Government officials.
Thursday
Fuel price increases effected recently are a result of international developments, which Zimbabwe has no control over, Energy and Power Development Minister Zhemu Soda has said.
Minister Soda said fuel prices have risen significantly over the past few days in the wake of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, which had affected supply trends as the former was the second-biggest producer of petroleum products in the world.

Zimbabwe continues to create an investment environment where capital is safe with the private sector being an essential partner in the development of the country as the drive towards Vision 2030 continues.
Speaking during a banquet hosted by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Nairobi State House on Wednesday night, President Mnangagwa invited investors from the eastern African country to invest in Zimbabwe where there are vast opportunities in various sectors.
