Mukoma Panga drops Sadza Nemhiripiri video

- Society Reporter

SUNGURA musician Panganayi “Mukoma Panga” Hare (pictured) will tomorrow release the video for his latest single titled “Sadza Nemhiripiri”.

The song is currently making waves on national radio.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Truetone Studios by Jabulani Ndlovu, the track has captured the attention of many because of a unique approach Mukoma Panga employed.

“Sadza Nemhiripiri” smoothly blends three genres namely sungura, Zimdancehall and rhumba.

Mukoma Panga took charge of the sungura notes while gifted, yet underappreciated, chanter Dispatch was in control of the rhumba lines. Enter Beezman also known as Chipoko ChaSauro. Only an attentive ear can quickly detect that it was Beezman imitating the late Soul Jah Love on the song. The gifted Zimdancehall chanter’s touch on the project is impressive. The men who played instruments also deserve special mention as they did a spending job. Also, the new video is simple yet enchanting.

“The single ‘Sadza Nemhiripiri’ is my latest project. The song is off my yet to be titled forthcoming album that is due for release later this year. I collaborated with Chipoko ChaSauro and Dispatch on this single which is already receiving massive airplay. The visuals will be ready on Monday (tomorrow) and they were done by Naxo Films,” said Mukoma Panga in an interview.

“I decided to blend sungura, Zimdancehall and rhumba in order to bring a fresh and vibrant sound. Sungura needs to be revitalised through such creativity. By reaching out to other artistes, we are trying to bring diverse fans to sungura.”

A corporate lawyer-cum-promoter-cum-singer, Mukoma Panga said he was getting positive feedback from fans.

“It’s a challenging journey but I’m glad to say things are shaping up since I released my debut project ‘Mbuva yeHwiza’ in 2019. Our followers are encouraging us to soldier on,” he said.

“Mbuva yeHwiza” carried the song “Panganayi” which did end on number three on the popular end of year Radio Zimbabwe Coca-Cola Top 50.

The video featured Tyra “Madam Boss” Chikocho.

The album was also nominated in the categories of Best New Comer at the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) and Best Sungura at the Zimbabwe Music Awards (Zima) in the same year. The musician has been consistently releasing fresh projects.

Last year, he dropped a single “Chibhakera” and the accompanying visuals that featured comedian Kapfupi and Mai Nga.

He followed-up the effort with yet another single titled “Uri Wangu” featuring renowned gospel singer Agartha Murudzwa and an album “Pfimbi Yegudo” (2021).

Most of his hit songs have occupied a top five slot on the end of year music charts competitions on Radio Zimbabwe and National FM.

Quality videos, songs, class and swag, he said, will make his work lovable.
