All set for Agricultural Show

- Sunday Mail Reporter

THE Zimbabwe Agriculture Show is on this week in Harare, with organisers saying all is set for the country’s largest agricultural exhibition that commences tomorrow.

This year will see a return to full-scale activities, after the last two editions had restrictions due to Covid-19 regulations.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail yesterday, ZAS spokesperson Mr Tawonga Miriyoni said preparations for the 112th edition of the fair were almost complete.

“We are quite happy with the groundwork. Preparations are 95 percent complete and we are very excited with the turn-out of exhibitors, it’s going to be something else considering that we haven’t been physically doing this for the past two years.

“As of Friday, we had sold more than 415 stands to companies’ eager to exhibit their products and services,” he said.

Yesterday, a number of exhibitors were making final touch-ups to their stands.

Mr Miriyoni urged show-goers to come in their numbers but observe recommended Covid-19 procedures, including wearing of masks.

“We will have a drone to monitor compliance of Covid-19 rules and regulations. All gates will have sanitisers and those indoors must always put their masks on to avoid the spread of Covid-19,” he said.

The week-long show is running under the theme “Unequalled business opportunities, Accessibility, Accountability and Abundance.”

Show highlights include the National Agribusiness Conference, the official opening on Friday, awards ceremony for outstanding exhibitors and firework displays.
