Zanu PF in solidarity with Burundi ruling party

- Sunday Mail Correspondent

YOUTHS should jealously guard the territorial integrity of their respective countries as they are the vanguard of their nations, ZANU PF Youth League Secretary for External Relations, Cde Valeria Makonza has said.

In a solidarity message at the 6th Edition of the National Imbonerakure Day, an annual gathering hosted by the Youth League of Burundi’s ruling party the CNDD — FDD yesterday, Cde Makonza said Africa’s erstwhile detractors should not be given room to destabilise the sovereignty and democracy enjoyed in African States.

“We are very much aware of machinations by the enemy to destabilise the African continent using the innocent youth demography through sponsored violent demonstrations and vote buying to effect regime change in stable African States.

“In this regard, let us all take charge in the role as the vanguard in defence of our respective territorial integrity,” she said.

Cde Makonza said youths must be united in addressing political and socio-economic challenges that confront them.

“Dear comrades, it is worth noting that as a grouping we have a common history, common challenges, a common culture, shared ideals and common future, as such, with such commonality we must continue sharing ideas in order to achieve positive youth development,” she said.

Cde Makonza said back home, President Mnangagwa was implementing youth development initiatives which leave no one and no place behind. She said because of youth empowerment taking place in Zimbabwe, President Mnangagwa was guaranteed of victory in next year’s harmonised elections.

“Zimbabwe through the able leadership of President Dr. E.D Mnangangwa is implementing youth development initiatives under the banner “leaving no one and no place behind”, in our quest to attain an upper middle income society by 2030.

“This initiative is further augmented by the mantra “Nyika Inovaka Nevene Vayo” literally meaning “the country is build by its own” in English. These strategies, I want to assure you, will deliver a resounding victory for our Presidential Candidate President Mnangagwa,” she said.

Cde Makonza said the ruling party’s Youth League remained indebted to the CNDD — FDD Youth League for gracing its successful 7th National Conference held in May.

The Youth League was among nine countries who were given an opportunity to present solidarity messages.
