Ed Shangwa a true IHG brand ambassador on the African continent
AFRICAN SUN Hotels and Resorts Managing Director Ed Shangwa has been appointed as the chairperson of IHG Owners Association-Africa to steer the vision of the association.
His extended leadership of the ownership group will make a positive difference, especially as the group is looking to emerge from Covid 19 tracking conditions.
He is a true IHG Brand Ambassador in Africa.
Shangwa is the Managing Director of African Sun Limited, a company listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.
He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Accounting and Commerce of South Africa (Fiacsa, Institute of Administration and Commerce of Zimbabwe (FIACZ) and a holder of Diploma in Management Studies, Accountancy and Master in Business Administration Degree from the Nottingham Business School, United Kingdom.
He is a registered general accountant with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (Z) (Paab), a member of the Pan-African Federation of Accountants (Pafa), an Alumni member of the Nottingham Business School, United Kingdom, and also an Associate member of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association (AHCIMA).
He is currently doing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with Edinburgh Business School, Heriot — Watt University, United Kingdom.
He has over 30 years’ experience in the Tourism and Hospitality industry, management, accounting and company secretarial gained during his career with African Sun Limited (former Zimbabwe Sun Limited).
Shangwa has worked in various finance and accounting roles with the Group, including that of Finance Director of a subsidiary and Group Company Secretary, culminating in his appointment as Group Managing Director of African Sun Ltd. (formerly Zimbabwe Sun Ltd.)
