Janet Jackson to star in ‘no subject barred’ documentary after Justin Timberlake apology

-

Pop superstar Janet Jackson is working on a hard-hitting new documentary about her life to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her self-titled 1982 debut album

Janet Jackson is to star in an "intimate, honest and unfiltered" new documentary which will lift the lid on her life.

The pop superstar has been working on the project for three years and it planning to release it to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her self-titled 1982 debut album next year.

News of the film has come just days after Justin Timberlake offered a public apology to Janet over their infamous 2004 Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction".

Janet is set to discuss the controversy in the new film, while she will also talk about the death of her brother Michael, her love life and becoming a mum.

It's currently titled Janet and the singer is said to have provided producers with never-before-seen home videos to shed light on her personal life.

The documentary is being made for America's A&E network, with bosses saying in a statement: "Janet has enjoyed immense success but also seen incredible tragedy.

"She has endured a tumultuous private life in the face of extraordinary public scrutiny.

"With no stone left unturned, Janet lifts the lid on her private life for the very first time and reveals the most intimate moments of the star ever caught on camera."

Janet has kept her personal life mostly out of the spotlight — even keeping some of her biggest life events secret.

She was married to first husband, singer James DeBarge, for a year in the early 1980s before getting an annulment.

The pop star went on to wed dancer René Elizondo Jr. in 1991 but kept the marriage a secret until after their split.

Janet dated music mogul Jermaine Dupri in the 2000s before striking up a romance with Wissam Al Mana in 2010.

They married in secret in 2012 and Janet gave birth to her first child, a son named Eissa Al Mana, in 2017.

The couple split just months after the birth.

The former NSYNC star admitted that as a white male he has benefited from an industry that condones "misogyny and racism" and promised to do better.

Janet faced a fierce backlash over the Super Bowl performance after Justin accidentally ripped her top open to expose her nipple on stage.

While Janet faced criticism over the incident, Justin seemed to distance himself from it and his career continued going from strength-to-strength. — Mirror.
