CAPS United’s commercial drive has gone a notch higher following the launch of a state-of-the-art official website yesterday which should help the club open up more revenue streams.

e Green Machine are borrowing concepts from big European sides to try and replicate their commercial drive.

e website, which has features that include a media watch which aggregates all content about the club and was taken from Liverpool and Tottenham, is, according to Caps United head of commercial and media Raymond Gonte, the best in Africa. He added that some of the features were also taken from Spanish giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Germany’s Bayern Munich.

e website allows supporters to buy match tickets in advance and they can also pay for all of the season’s home matches.

Fans are currently not allowed in stadia as a Covid-19 control measure, but Caps United hopes that once government gives greenlight for them to return, they will find the experience of match entry hussle free.

Gonte said after researching on the websites of most top clubs in Africa, including TP Mazembe, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, among others, the Caps website was found to be well ahead in terms of features and design.

Some of the features of the website include player statistics like tackles, passes and minutes, among several others.

“We researched on most of the club’s websites in Africa and I can tell you the Caps United website is the best in Africa. It is well ahead compared to that of Kaizer Chiefs,

Mamelodi Sundowns and TP Mazembe. Al Ahly of Egypt has a different website but still the Caps website is well ahead. It has taken us as a club to the top of African football. is is a massive partnership and the burden is now on us to ensure we have content, we have more traffic. All critical information about the club can even be accessed offline,” Gonte said.

is follows the club’s five-year partnership deal with Advanced Innovation firm which is involved in cyber security and software development. e partnership is for five years and is worth US$1,14 million in total.

e firm’s CEO Paul Mlilo said the partnership will help Caps United open more streams of revenue generation as more funds will go directly to the club.

“It will open more streams of revenue through subscriptions as supporters would for example want to watch a clip of the players in action. at means money going directly to the club,” Mlilo said.

“Supporters can also donate to their team through this platforms. ey can also link all broadcasters including Supersport to this website.

“ ere are several ways through which they can generate revenue through this. We are excited as a firm to get into this partnership with one of the biggest club in the country.”

e Green Machine also announced a three-year partnership deal worth US$130 000 with beverages company Coover. e partnership will see players and their families enjoying monthly free hampers of the soft drinks.
