„ Grumpy dog real?

A dog with wild fur and a permanent scowl has people convinced Gizmo from Gremlins is real.

With wide eyes and a constant look of displeasure, Proshka has been gaining worldwide attention thanks to his likeness to the fictional character from the cult classic.

Proshka has racked up 14,700 Instagram followers thanks to his striking good looks — with many joking that his owner must have ‘fed him after midnight’.

Gremlins, written by Chirs Columbus and directed by Joe Dante, is an American horror comedy which draws on legends about mischievous creatures who cause mayhem when not properly cared for — the ‘mogwai’.

Gizmo, voiced by Howie Mandel, becomes known as the main mogwai character in the 1984 film, after building a relationship with a teenage boy who is gifted him as a pet.

In the movie, the teenager is warned to remember three rules when caring for his mogwai — sunlight will kill it, don’t let it come in contact with water and, most importantly, never feed it after midnight.

Not only has the two-year-old dog been compared to Gizmo from Gremlins but also Chewbacca, Wookie and the Grinch.

The Brussels Griffon is constantly being stopped by people wanting to know his breed - but is said to love the attention despite his grumpy face implying otherwise.

Owner Stefani Doherty, from Sheffield, shares pictures and videos of her four dogs on her @griffy.girl account — but says Proshka quickly became the standout star.

She said: “He seems to make people smile and right now I think we need that more than ever. He is the happiest dog despite his grumpy face.”

Woman 's plan to name her son after her dead dog divides parents' opinions.

She took to a parenting forum to ask for advice on whether her baby would 'hate her' for naming them, if she had a boy, after her dog who passed away two years prior.

When it comes down to it, the process of picking a name for your baby is a daunting one as there's so many to choose from.

While some people name their baby after a loved one, their favourite artist, author or fictional character, one woman has asked whether it'd be weird to name her newborn after a beloved pet who died.

The anonymous mum-to-be explained that her dog sadly passed away of cancer two years ago, and she misses him dearly.

Talking to the Baby Centre forum, she said: "So the only boy name that we can all agree on is Charlie. I love the name, that's why I named our beagle Charlie 12 years ago. He developed cancer and we finally had to have him put to rest about 2 years ago." But she admits she's worried that people will think it's odd.

"Is it wrong to name our baby, if it's a boy, Charlie? Will the baby hate us for naming him after a dog?" she asked.

Fellow parents were quick to share their thoughts on the name, with many reassuring her there was nothing wrong with it.

One said: "Just don't tell him he's named after a dog if you're worried! I don't think there is anything wrong with it."

Another commented: "Your choice entirely, lol. I don't think your kid will hate you. Better than naming them after your favourite soap opera star or something, lol."

"Little odd to me if you want honesty. Would it be confusing for your son to have a brother with the same name as his deceased dog? The psychologist in me worries," said a third. Someone else said: "If you're worried about it but you really like the name, does your child, or anyone else for that matter really have to know!!??"

"Hmmm . . . of course, there is nothing technically wrong with it. But, personally, I would never do that. It would feel really weird to ME," wrote one person.

But the worried mum admitted everyone knew who Charlie was.

"I'm sure somewhere down the line someone would mention that our dog was named Charlie. If nothing else we have lots of pics of him, and some with our son Joey.

Even Joey knows who Charlie is," she shared. — Mirror.Co.Uk.
