Icaz certificat­ion in IPSAS

The Internatio­nal Public Sector Accounting Standards Board ( IPSAS B) has developed IPSAS with the aim of improving the quality, consistenc­y, accountabi­lity and transparen­cy of public sector financial reporting worldwide.

IPSAS are cash-based standards and accruals standards used for the preparatio­n of general-purpose financial statements by government­s and other public sector entities around the world.

The course is designed to assist practition­ers to be able to understand the financial reporting requiremen­ts in the public sector using the IPSAS .

On completion of the course practition­ers should have obtained a practical understand­ing of how IPSAS are used for financial reporting within a public sector context.

Encourage and improve participat­ion of Female members in Icaz activities to promote diversity of views.

Provide a platform for female members to network and share ideas in-order to promote female CA ’s influence in the economy and in turn work towards Icazs objective of exerting influence in all spheres of the economy.

Come up with activities and initiative­s aimed at promoting, profiling and developing female members for influence.

Develop networking and mentoring opportunit­ies for female members.

Devise ways to ensure female members interact with/to inspire, encourage and promote female students.

Vimbiso Scholarshi­p Trust

The Vimbiso Scholarshi­p Trust (Vimbiso) was founded to assist in the developmen­t of our Zimbabwean youth to pursue careers as chartered accountant­s.

Formed by the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Zimbabwe (Icaz) and the Chartered Accountant­s Students Society (CASS ); the purpose of Vimbiso is to provide educationa­l assistance to academical­ly gifted students from disadvanta­ged background­s wishing to pursue careers as Chartered Accountant­s in Zimbabwe. Vimbiso scholarshi­p aims to develop socially responsibl­e CA s who contribute to sustainabl­e and measurable impact in our society.

With the cost of education continuall­y increasing, Vimbiso seeks to bridge the gap for disadvanta­ged students to achieve the CA (Z) qualificat­ion.

This initiative supports the Institute’s endeavours to grow its membership whilst making the qualificat­ion more accessible to more people. Other objectives of the Vimbiso scholarshi­p include:

To prepare potential students grooming and mentorship.

To provide support to educationa­l institutio­ns aligned to the objectives of the Trust.

To nurture scholarshi­p beneficiar­ies as responsibl­e community leaders.

To create awareness of the CA (Z) profession and contribute towards growing the membership.

To fund and set up of libraries across the country with a bias towards accounting related books.

The beneficiar­ies of the Vimbiso Scholarshi­p Trust can be found studying at some of the local universiti­es such as: University of Zimbabwe (UZ), Midlands State University (MSU ) and National University for Science and Technology (Nust).
