His combined insurance sector experience spans over fifteen (15) years, initially as an insurance executive for the Zimnat insurance group. He started as group Finance director rising to group Ceo for Zimnat lion.

later, he became a director and chairman for First mutual life Holdings limited and some of its subsidiari­es. in both organisati­ons he was involved in organicall­y and through acquisitio­ns. Chiswo is an insurance and risk management expert with a career that spans three decades in insurance and reinsuranc­e.

He is the chief cxecutive officer of phoenix of Botswana assurance Company. He is a chartered insurer and holds a master of Business administra­tion degree.

Chiswo acquired insights into different risk landscapes in various countries in the region while leading different organisati­ons, including Zimnat lion, swiss re in Zimbabwe, and madison general in Zambia.

He is also the founder of ponnez risk management services (prms) whose mission is to disrupt and challenge convention­al thinking in the risk management industry through structured, repeatable, alternativ­e risk transfer frameworks.

He made history in 2001 as the first president of the insurance institute of Zimbabwe to be re-elected to serve two terms.

He is an examiner of the insurance institute of Zimbabwe, an industry expert on the advisory Board for the Faculty of Business and accounting at Botho university.

He is also the founder of the Carlson Chiswo Foundation trust (CCF) for people living with spinal cord injuries, a cause close to his heart as he has “walked” the journey himself.
