Fact file: Gibson Mapfidza

• a Chartered Surveyor with over 18-years of professional working experience in the built environment industry.

• He started his professional career at CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) International Property Consultants before joining the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe where he led the bank’s Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) portfolio.

• In 2010, mapfidza joined old mutual as a property investments manager and rose to head of property development.

• In this role, he led landmark infrastructure development projects in Zimbabwe and malawi.

• In 2018, mapfidza joined Fidelity Life assurance of Zimbabwe as general manager property investments and later joined mashonaland Holdings Limited as the listed property entity’s managing director.

• He has extensive experience in infrastructure and property development, property investment management, infrastructure financing and project management.

• He holds a BSc. Rural and Urban Planning (University of Zimbabwe), mSc. Construction management (National University of Science and technology) and mSc. Real Estate Investment (University of Reading, UK).

• mapfidza just completed his mBa with the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape town (Sa).

• He is an active and qualified member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Estate agency Council of Zimbabwe (EaCZ) and Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe (REIZ).

• He also lectures at the University of Zimbabwe. He started from 2008 to date, specialising in construction economics and real estate finance and investment.
