e building society of the year award went to NBS due to its ability to maintain “…ambitious growth strategies, under the theme 10X Strategy, that witnessed an aggressive pursuit of business development opportunities in the market as well as deliberate efforts to attain diversified revenue and customer bases for the long-term sustainability of the business” said the adjudicators.
e runner up is ZB Building Society anchored by its incredible performance in noninterest income, revaluation gains and translation gains. Another award up for grabs was the best digital innovation award which went to ZB bank because of its “one digital ZB shop” which is the first of its kind in not only Zimbabwe but Africa as well.
“One Digital ZB Shop brings together services such as insurance, investment management and banking under one roof-all with the aim of improving service delivery as well as providing excellent customer experience”.
Nedbank became the runner up due to its ability to attract and service customers digitally, breadth of product offerings and evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives. FBC bank won the social responsibility and sustainability award with POSB as its runner up.
e overall corporate governance award was won by Stanbic bank because of its structures which exhibited high standards of corporate governance in terms of board structures, composition, gender balance, youth penetration and general disclosures.
e last award of the day was the bank CEO of the year which was won by Blessing Mudavanhu of CBZ bank.
